The 7th International Conference on Coupled THMC Processes

Abstracts

The abstract submission is now closed

The submitted abstracts will be reviewed by the conference organisers. Accepted abstracts will receive confirmation early February 2019.

We strive to compile a GeoProc 2019 special issue ‘Coupled THMC processes: Earthquake and faulting mechanics’ in a peer-reviewed journal, such as the Journal of Geophysical Research, Tectonophysics or equivalent.

Abstract template and submission

Please prepare your abstract following the template, which can be downloaded GeoProc2019_Abstract_template. Abstracts should be sent to GeoProc2019.at.uu.nl before 21 January 2019 (abstract submission deadline).

Travel support for students and early-career researchers

Early career researchers (PhD students and postdocs) can apply for (limited) travel support. The (extended) deadline for applications is 21 January, 2019. Results will be announced by 15 March, 2019. Please note that travel support applications must be made together with abstract submission (by email, using the downloadable form provided GeoProc2019_Travel_support ). If you have any questions on applying for travel support, please contact us.

Oral presentations: instructions

The conference will consist of a collection of invited talks, which will be 30 minutes in total (25 min presentation + 5 min discussion). Standard talks will be scheduled for 20 minutes (15 min presentation + 5 min discussion). To ensure that the program stays on schedule, please adhere to these strict time constraints when preparing your contribution.

Poster presentation: instructions

For the poster sessions, poster boards will be made available, which can accommodate portrait poster size (maximum width 900 mm, maximum height 2000 mm).  We suggest you to design your poster layout in the following way:

  • Title, author(s) and affiliation(s)
  • Introduction and Purpose
  • Methods
  • Results
  • Conclusions
  • References (if necessary)

The title should be emphasised by the use of a bold type face. This writing should be easily readable at a distance of 2-3 meters. To promote your work you may like to bring handouts for distribution to interested delegates. Presenters are requested to stand by their poster during the presentation time indicated in the Scientific Program.
